Introduction
Hello, my name is Maliah and I am in 8th
grade. My name is pronounced [Ma-Lie-Uh], lots of people pronounce it
incorrectly, so I just thought I should add that little side note. When I first
meet others, usually I may come off as mean or rude. However, I promise you I
am the complete opposite. I love socializing and talking to others. Although I
may seem unapproachable, I know that if I get to know you and vise versa, we
will get along just fine! My friends and I always talk about lots of things,
including my fears. I am greatly afraid of three things, and I hope you nor I
will ever have to experience these things in life!
The first thing that I am greatly afraid of is getting
kidnapped. I know it’s super weird, but my friends and I sometimes think about
what we would do if one of us got kidnapped. It would be horrific to be
kidnapped, so when I am alone, it is always in the back of my mind. The movies about kidnapping, horrid and brutal, are exactly what I think about. Although they are just movies, these things really do happen in real life and it is very scary. One creak when
I am alone really finds a way to perturb me. I guess that can be both a good
and bad thing, hope for the best but prepare for the worst, and that is exactly
what I do.
Secondly, I am very frightened of elevators. Thankfully,
I am not afraid of elevators enough to the point where I won’t go in one, it’s
just that I am very alert and scared when I am in it. The reason I have this
fear is because one time in a dream I fell in an elevator with my family, I
still remember the dream precisely. Whenever I go in an elevator, the dream all
comes back to me. Frightened, I always enter it warily. In the end, it always
turns out okay and it does not fall nor malfunction. However, the fear is still
there, and it is very bothering.
Lastly, I am utterly horrified to go in a submarine.
Small, unpredictable submarines always seem to get to my nerves. Just the
thought of being in something that goes underwater troubles me. I can only
imagine what would happen if water came in while we were in the submarine and stuck
underwater. There is no getting out of it alive if that does occur, and that
makes me super uneasy. Also, if you did drown, it would be a horrible death.
The reason for that is because it would be so slow and miserable. So, there is
no possibility that anyone will ever see me entering a submarine.
Fears are very scary, and everyone has one. It is not a
sign of weakness; it is a sign of being human, and that is truly what I think.
Facing fears head on is worse than the fears themselves; and I hope to be able
to do this someday (well besides the kidnapping part.) In the end, I hope this
has shown another side of me that others may not be able to see as clearly!
Hi Maliah, your blog is quite fascinating your my new role model. Do you play any sports because i play a few? I'm also in 8th grade, it's really easy so far. Judging on your blog you seem really pretty, what's your snap @. Lastly your blog was great and definitely way better than mine with ever be. Hope you have a nice day Maliah.
ReplyDeleteHello Brooklyn,
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you enjoyed by blog and I am very honored that you think of me in that way! To answer your question, I play volleyball, basketball, and softball. I also play on a club volleyball team! I think your blog is just as good, if not, better than mine! I hope you have a nice day as well!
Maliah,
ReplyDeleteYou have a unique name and if anyone thinks otherwise, they can take a chill pill. Saying that, each one of your fears are legit. Kidnapping and brutal treatments of victims is sad fact. The cases were the kidnapper lived among regular neighbors while terrorizing their victims for years without anyone getting suspicious does strike fear in anyone's mind.
Like you, I do not care for submarines and when I visited one last as part of museum trip, I was very very afraid of it getting unmoored and all of us getting under water. As I was one of the adults, I had to keep my fears under the wraps (Jippers!!!)
You have an easygoing writing style. I am looking forward to reading more of your posts.
Best wishes.
